Worcester county has really disappointed me. One a town of friend compassionate people is just the opposite. When did snow hill marching band allow a middle school student to dress and perform? When I went to snow hill school no matter who you were you had to wait until 9 th grade to be apart of the band. If the opportunity is given to one it should be given to all.Girls who enter high school try out to be a majorette. Most of the girls are turned down. The majority is made up of all teachers children and personal friends of the advisors. If you are not if the ones above, you do not become a majorette. But a 7 th grade and take the place that a ninth grader could have. Why is this allowed? This to me is a form of bullying. Middle school girls can’t march but “ Ellie Black “ can . Why? It truly is wrong from any way you look at it. It is thrown up in these little girls eye that “ I am not good enough “ great way to cause a child to be depressed, or if the child is depressed this issue could put them over the edge. It is only done for show. Show for what? My child is better than your child. Just because her aunt is the principal , mother teaches in high school and her mother b st friend is the majorette advisor make all of this ok. All and all, I am really ashame how this society or school system has fallen into this kind of behavior and form of bullying. Does the parade committees or other high school band aware that a child not in high school is allowed to dress and perform as one? Probably not. How do you think if this was published in the papers or on WBOC for example. What do you think the majority of this community would think? Parent of a child who didn’t want to go to any parades this year.
