My wife and I were involved in a rear end collision on our way to visit family out of state for the Christmas holidays in December 2019. We had our family dog in the back seat and the trunk packed with gifts and luggage when we were hit at a speed exceeding 100 mph. It was late at night and we were in the middle of nowhere. We were able to rent a car to get back home, and a friend gave us the number of her attorney. After consulting with her lawyer, it was determined that we needed a dynamite personal injury attorney and he referred us to Bentley and More. Our in person consultation was with Keith More and another attorney, but during the process, we were reassigned to Whit Berth. At first we were concerned as we were now in the midst of the pandemic and we had not met Whit personally. He was very patient with us and propped us up while we continued to seek medical attention for our injuries. Whit was able to obtain all our medical records and deal exclusively with the insurance company to quickly obtain reimbursement for our car, damaged personal property, rental car and the vet visit for our dog. It took some additional time and negotiation to reach the final settlement which ended up being 3.5 times higher than the original offer. Whit kept telling us to be patient and our patience would be rewarded. He was right. He exceeded our expectations and we are so glad we were not in a hurry to settle. I know many people are severely impacted financially after an automobile accident, but it is important to have someone fighting for you, especially if you have injuries. You need to be able to fully concentrate on recovery and let someone else deal with the insurance company. We would never have been able to negotiate the settlement on our own. We are eternally grateful to Whit Bertch and Bentley & More and we recommend them highly.
