Good for kids
I've gone out with East Meets West 7 times in the past 2 years and I LOVE them! The boat size is awesome, only a max of 6 people (right now with Covid it's same family only so super safe and awesome have the boat to yourself). I love not being on a huge boat trying to see over everyone and feeling smushed. Nick is so so great! He has a real passion for wildlife and it shines though. Seeing dolphins and whales in the wild (where they belong) is a magical experience. I've gone out with Brandon and Craig as well, and they were great too. Thank you all for always stopping to pull out balloons too. That's important to me. If you're looking to have an incredible, fun time out on the water, go with East Meets West, you'll never want to go on any other! (And I've been on A LOT of whale watching trips!) Excellent whale watching experience! Nice, clean and fast boat. Saw everything we could possibly dream about: whales, bunch of dolphins, sea lions, birds. Captain Nick quickly reacted to any activity on the water and in no time brought us right into it.
I go out with this company every time I get to visit California. My last trip we did a day rental and had Captain Nick. We saw: Gray Whales Humpbacks Fin whale 4 types of dolphins And a huge sun fish All this in one amazing trip. Then we were dropped off on Catalina Island for some food before heading back to port. This was one of the best days of my life. My family and I will never forget it. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF GOING OUT WITH ANYONE ELSE. These guys know where the wildlife are and will get you to it. They need more then 5 stars!
We booked this tour with a private boat. Of course the boot is small but we never felt unsafe. When out of the harbor, the boat speed up and we found immediately dolphins and had a great experience with our family. The captain was friendly and was very respectful to the animals. I would recommend East Meets West to everybody. Thanks again. Peter
We loved this boat tour with Captain Nick! We saw hundreds of dolphins and Captain Nick made sure we got the best view possible. We didn't see any whales but Captain Nick definitely tried his best, he was so friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour super fun. Loved the smaller boat size and more personalized tour! Highly recommend!!
