I called Silverman Furs today to try to assist a mutual customer who wished to pawn their fur coat that they purchased from Silverman Furs a number of years ago. I was completely transparent about the reason I was calling, and the woman who answered did not even know what a pawn was. I informed her that the customer wished to use his fur coat as collateral for a loan, and that i just needed some information about the item to better determine the items value. She started looking up my customer's name when she suddenly said she couldn't help us, and disconnected the call. I called back and a man answered and said that he couldn't give us that information. I stated that I could understand that, however it was very rude of the woman to hang up on me. He stated that it was his fault because he told her to hang up, and that he was the owner. I stated that i was just trying to help our mutual customer and could he speak to him and give him the information. He said no, he would have to come in and he proceeded to hang up on me again. I tried calling back and they refused to answer. I just wished to get the information on the product. If your policy is to not help someone ascertain the information of the products that you sell, then you could have stated that in the beginning. Why the owner and employee of SIlverman Furs could not articulate that information without being rude and hanging up on a local business who is just trying to assist their customer is beyond me. I constantly have to advise people in my business that I cannot release information to them. I calmly explain why so they understand. I would never hang up on a person calling my business.
You have to love a place that hangs up on you continuously and look at you like a bug when you walk in. Almost every Christmas I have my husband pick me up a small gift from here but they hate when he walks in wearing work cloths. They need to understand it doesn’t matter what you are wearing as long as the wallet can pay it off. They like a specific type of people and if don’t look like or sound that you will NOT get the best service. The reason I gave them two stars is because I still love the items that came from there. Just hate the faces I get when I go to get them cleaned.
