DO NOT USE THERE SERVICES REALLY BAD PLACE TO TAKE SOMEONE IN NEED OF HELP. WE BROUGHT ONE OF MY KID HERE AND THEY WE DID NOT GET BACK TO US UNTIL AFTER 13 DAYS. WE CALLED THEM BACK AND THEY REFUSE TO TALK TO US. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IS THIS PLACE. NOT EVEN WORTH IT FOR A 1 STAR. REALLY REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Nicasa has been a great experience and I am glad I had the opportunity to intern there. The counselors are some of the best in the world. My supervisor taught me a great deal about behavior. I will recommend Nicasa for clients who are in need of help with addiction and mental health.

Horrible reception system stood at the window for 30 min watching them pick up phones. Also one was being very rude to her coworkers. Then almost yelled at me for asking to bill insurance. Edit: now it’s been a few months and turns out they had a billing problem and billed me to much! My insurance company and I have been trying to get ahold of the payment center for 3 months now and I’ve never received a call back! This place is a MESS!!

Unfortunately I am going through some bad times right now and I was seeking help from trained professionals to help me figure out how to best handle and fix some of my problems. I sat down with what I thought was a nice lady for my intake evaluation for mental health and after numerous times of me saying that before other people could get involved I needed to work on myself and I kindly asked if we could do everything privately. After she reassured me that that is what they do here she leaves the room I am doing the evaluation in to enter another room with at least 3 other people to tell them about my intake. I felt like ice had been poured on me and I couldn't believe that this was happening. The thought of patient confidentiality had been broken on the first visit to this place made me walk away from much needed help that I need. It's been 2 days since the visit and unfortunately I have to wait another day travel 35 miles into the city, I'm in the far northern suburbs much closer to Wisconsin then Chicago and I don't have a license or anyone I can ask for the help to get me there. Now I have figured out how I am getting there but after a night of no sleep and having to work 3rd shift I will also have to get to a metra station to try to be in the city before 9 a.m. I am completely disappointed that the trust that needs to be between a patient and any mental health professional was completely ignored. I do hope that the staff of NICASA can learn to treat other individuals seeking help with the kindness and trust they deserve. It also doesn't help that the demons that are attacking me are more prevalent now then they were the day I went to NICASA and unfortunately I have to go to work with the anxiety of losing my job and the fear that my coworkers are all trying to get me fired.
