Our daughter started at Mt Si Arbor Montessori when they opened in the Fall of 2018 and we have been blown away. The school director and staff are highly professional and so fun! My daughter comes home singing sweet songs, counting, sounding out words, talking about nature and her friends. I have no doubt she is ready for Kindergarten and I love the how the montessori method has built her confidence and natural curiosity. We love Mt Si Arbor so much that our younger twins will be attending this Fall!

Sarah Harper, who recently became Mt. Si Arbor Montessori School's Head of School and Primary Lead, is an amazing teacher. She was my daughter's preschool teacher for three years and if it had been possible for more, we would have continued on. She is caring, patient and organized. She helps each child develop their own strengths. And she is wonderful communicating with parents.
This school has new management and I have personal experience with the new Director (who also teaches) that I want to share. Sarah was my daughter's Montessori teacher in preschool and one of our favorite teachers of all time. In addition to being an incredibly competent and experienced teacher, Sarah is patient, compassionate and great at handling a myriad of different children with their unique personalities and needs. Sarah was also very organized and communicated exceptionally well with her parent community. She made a point of continuing her own education and development as a professional in her field. We were sad to graduate out of Sarah's class, but keep in touch with her to this day. If we had another child we wouldn't hesitate to send them to this school!
Mt. Si Arbor Montessori is truly an amazing school located in North Bend. If you are looking for a Montessori education this is the perfect school. Additionally, it is supported by the Arbor Montessori school in Sammamish. Sarah and Kristine are both extremely dedicated, conscientious and kind teachers. They truly care about nurturing and advancing your child.They are in constant communication with you about your child— whether it’s through daily photos, weekly updates or parent-teacher conferences. My favorite part of this program was that my daughter learned how to sew! For the past couple weeks, she has brought home an extremely detailed sewing project. It has been quite amazing watching her talent grow. If you are considering preschool in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by the school and checking out this wonderful program.
If you are looking for an authentic and passionate Montessori environment, this is it. Both of our children attended MVM school through kindergarten, as well as a number of summer camps - they STILL will tell anyone that those years were some of the best they've had (they are 8 & 13). Why? I think about this a lot....in this overly digital world (I work in tech) Katy creates a community and an aesthetic that clearly value respect for each other, the earth and our selves. She promotes problem solving and self-expression, she ensures our kids are not exposed to marketing imagery and I always knew my children were safe, active and loved. We're fortunate in the Valley to have MVM as a reminder that early childhood education doesn't have to be about testing, competition and fear....thankfully.
