Love this State Park! It's a wonderful hiking trail with gorgeous views. I try to come here once a week, and I love coming here for the sunset. In the summer, the beach is stunning, the fall and spring are great for views of trees and wildlife, and the winter offers great cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The only downside is that lately a lot of people have been walking off path which increases dune erosion. Overall, love this place and definitely a great place for fresh air and beautiful views.

Easily one of our families favorite places to camp. Personal favorite because of it's \forest feel\ and close (5 to 15 min walk depending on campsite) to Lake Michigan. Absolute stunning scenery and variety of trees! Very clean bathrooms. No alcohol spring and summer.

Great park for a day trip. Lots of parking, clean facilities, and decent size beach, even with the current erosion problems on the shoreline. There are two nice trails for hiking, one shorter (about a mile) and one longer. They both finish at the beach and you can either walk the shoreline back or turn around and take the trail back to the parking lot. At high tide you’d have to walk in the water to get back if you don’t return on the trail.

We went to the beach and it was beautiful! We were able to bring our dog as see if he could swim (with his new life jacket). It was such a great time. It was clean, everyone was friendly, there were a million different games taking place in the water, so it was entertaining to watch! P.S. He can swim! Thanks Hoffmaster!

This place is great. We camped here and everything was clean and the staff was super friendly. There were a few issues with the campground that may spill into other campgrounds but I still think it is relevant enough not to make it 5 stars. 1. Mask enforcement did not exist. There was no one there enforcing masks so about 50% of people weren’t wearing masks. I’m not going to get into politics but it is against the Law currently to not wear a mask and being on Public/State land, it should be enforced. 2. Kids and young teens were running everywhere in the dark and on bikes. Children are not being watched over. One of the camp hosts even let his daughter drive on a small tricycle down the road while cars were trying to pass by. It definitely wasn’t showing a good example of how parents should parent while at a camp site. Safety should be a number one priority and this was not the case visiting this campground. But the staff was wonderful and did wear masks and I understand with that rule it is hard to enforce. So a suggestion I have for the campground is to have someone overseeing bathrooms and making sure people have masks on when around that public area. I love Hoffmaster State Park and hope they’re striving to make it a safer area for everyone.
