We adopted our Archie from Sandy Paws last July (2019, see my earlier review), and we have stayed in contact with the rescue and Archie's foster mom for the last year. There was an opportunity for us to foster Tiger, a 16 week Brindled bundle of love who was returned to the rescue by a women who stated to me she \knew nothing about dogs and she wasn't aware of his behaviors.\ Tiger was a joy from the minute he entered our little family. and had no unusual behaviors like the woman said. Ashley gave me the information on Tiger, his age, breed mix...etc and was very open and communicative to me when I volunteered to foster. Tiger was already trying to learn commands like sit, no, and wait. He picked up fast on house breaking and was working on crate training when he left to go meet his now forever family. He and Archie played FOR HOURS and then Tiger would just snuggle up with you and enjoy the belly rubs. He was almost a foster fail for our family, and the entire time I was in contact with Ashley and Kate from the rescue. After I brought Tiger to hist new foster mom who was preparing him for his forever home, we stayed in contact and I knew the minute Tiger was adopted! The whole rescue and their volunteers work day and night to find the perfect home for these animals and they work with the families to make sure everyone is safe and happy. I will be fostering for them again, likely a foster to adopt, and I always recommend them to friends. Once you adopt from Sandy Paws you join a family!

I rarely write reviews but felt it was necessary to provide feedback. I was very disappointed with my experience with Sandy Paws Rescue. After completing an adoption application this past fall, I had reached out to the rescue on a regular basis inquiring about available dogs. I either heard back days later saying the dog was no longer available OR never heard back at all. I reached out NUMEROUS times asking if my application was being considered and then received a response saying \keep checking in\ - leading me to think it had been approved. I even spoke directly with the adoption coordinator at the rescue saying I was \on the list\. After months of poor communication, I have decided to look elsewhere but I am very disappointed with my experience. I still receive emails on a weekly basis saying to reach out to the team about my application... for which I NEVER receive a response. To boil it down, Inconsistent communication was the key issue and I hope to have better luck elsewhere.
This is an awesome group of people doing amazing work. We were looking to adopt a Belgian Malinois, which is not a breed for everyone, and even for experienced adopters the individual dog's personality may or may not be a good match for your individual family & lifestyle. Ashley and her team vetted us thoroughly and their \try it before you buy it\ methodology is great to ensure good matches. There was no pressure to adopt if it wasn't turning out to be a great match. The strict policies are clearly designed to ensure dogs end up in their forever homes. Once past the initial stages, communication from the rescue is amazing. If you're looking for an easy process, this is not the rescue for you. If you're looking for ETHICS and RIGOR to ensure you find a great new member of your family, Sandy Paws is where you want to look!
Ashley and Sandy Paws helped with the adoption of my best furry friend, Baxter! This organization truly cares about their mission - to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals (to loving and vetted homes). Their hearts are for the animals and you can definitely see that in all they do! Thanks, Sandy Paws!
Where do I even begin? Ashley and her team are incredible. They go above and beyond to help animals in need. The adoption process was seamless and very thorough. I love that they take the time to thoroughly review all applicants in order to find the best possible fit for each animal in their care. This rescue is highly responsive and very professional. It amazes me that these people do all of this out of the goodness of their hearts. They donate their time to make this world a better place and for that I am so very grateful.
