Another great visit, highly recommend this place. Level grassy area, beautiful oak trees for shade and very quiet. Super convenient to Charleston, Kiawah and Seabrook. Only negative is busy traffic at entrance.

Oak Plantation Camp Ground on Savannah Highway on Johns Island is a great place to camp that has plenty of room and space to be comfortable. The location is quiet, but not too far away from just about everything. The facility is well maintained and a good value for all that you get here. This is a good place to stop for a campground.

Park is clean, convenient and staff is great! I loved the speed limits and the speed bumps. Felt very safe and convenient to Charleston. Sites are spacious and park is super easy to access from highway. However, we won't be coming back. We are in the back, in row O, and all we keep hearing is loud vehicles, like semi's or drag cars, ALL night long. Not sure what highway backs up to the back of the park, but its awful! It is also a Saturday night, so not sure if that's why. I've never once complained about noise anywhere and have even stayed at Interstate parks, without this much noise. Besides the traffic, several groups outside of their campers, hanging out very loudly in large groups, well into and past 11pm, as well as dogs barking and sirens all night long. I tried to call the desk but for some reason my phone kept saying all lines busy. Eventually, someone else must have complained as the loud campers went inside. We were excited to check out. If you need a place close and convenient and don't mind noise, book it!

Oak Plantation Campground near Charleston, SC is highly recommended. Their web site does not begin to show what they have. Roomy, shaded, grass and amenities. Baths are older but clean. Wifi worked well except late at night when everybody was on. TV cables channels were all good. I took many pics that really tell the story. The highway leading into the campground is CROWDED all the time. You can mitigate this when leaving by turning right out of the campground and accessing town from the Glenn McConnell Pkwy – only an extra mile or two.

This place is wonderful. The quiet hours are observed, it is super close to everything, and there is a HUGE dog run. The office team is very friendly and helpful. I had several questions as this was my first time ever camping and they were extremely patient. I’ve been here a week and planning to extend another week to a month! Thank you all for making my first experience one which was fun and built confidence!!

Don't get propane refills at Lowe's for 20 when they are only 40% full, go here instead to get 80% full tanks for half the price.. 2 grill tanks, 25.
