It is our right to march in parades (Freedom of Speech)! The decision of the board not to allow political parties or candidates to march in the parade was terrible and inappropriate. It was one of the worst decisions, I have heard of lately. This is where the public gets to see and meet who is running from both parties. We have a major elections coming up with very important local, state and federal races. The public deserves the right to know who is running. The board and members of the Ocean Park Chamber of Commerce should be very ashamed of themselves. This was a bad decision. It was all over one sign that said: RESIST. They said it was offensive and kids should not see this. Well, our president is offensive to me and our children. Then when people including myself started to make comments, that they didn't agree with, they deleted them and blocked me. Censorship at it's finest! Both parties have been allowed to march in this parade since the onset.

The Chamber decided there would be no political floats in the 4th of July parade (without notifying the folks who were to be in the parade until the last minute) because last year someone had a Resist sign-it simply said \Resist.\ There have been political floats since the very first parade in Ocean Park. Could the Republican members of the Chamber not want anyone to see an enthusiastic opposition to their President?? What other reason could there be to suppress free speech? When people complained on their Facebook page, they deleted the complaints.

Thank you for being able to download the information about Isaac Alonzo Clark. I am a Daughter of the Pioneers, Isaac was one of my family members. Beulah Wickberg was my grandmother and William L Wickberg my father. My sister Jeanne and I are working on a memorial Celebration of Life for our mother Dorothy Irene Briggs Wickberg (Anacortes, WA) and I came upon your site looking for a picture of a razor clam. I have many pictures of the ship wrecks on the beach, and our parents were part of the group who put the masts up at the Ocean Park approach. We're trying to remember if the masts were off the French ship \Alice\ I still have some of her name plates or if the masts were off the \S.S.Solano\ where our parents netted fish out of the hull in those years when the sand sifted away and it came up making a fishing pool at low tide. I didn't see any masts on the Solano in the pictures I have of it's construction.
