I'm not a cowboy in any sense of the word but wow this place was awesome. Brought my sons there and they enjoyed it too. Definitely not just cowboy stuff as there is a lot more that falls under the western heritage label. Has oil paintings, bronze and marble sculptures, artifacts like clothing and guns, a life-size turn of the century western town, and well-done videos in a few spots. Also has a huge outdoor space, landscaped well with more sculptures and demonstration pieces and hands on activities, great views of downtown too. Very informative and interactive throughout. Native culture and women represented too. Staff were great as well. Highly recommend if you have the slightest interest in cowboys or the west or if you just like histor, museums, or art.

If you love history or like western shows or movies this is a must stop. You can spend hours walking through the museum and enjoying a huge part of American history. They even have a replica of a small western town inside. I loved how they had a history of western hollywood movies and actors, this went back to the early 1900s. They also had american rodeo history and of course American Indian history. This is a must stop if your driving through Oklahoma City.

Over a weekend excursion to OKC, I decided to check out a few of the museums in the area. My wife wasn’t particularly excited, but agreed nonetheless. Turns out, she enjoyed the museum as much as I did. Each exhibit has incredible props which are beautifully displayed. In addition, many of the exhibits are interactive and allow the visitor to explore and experience Western history. Hands down, our favorite piece was the Western Town. We spent most of our time exploring each building and taking pictures.

This was an amazing and LARGE museum/gallery. It was full if history of the west, as well as cowboys and Indians that lived there. There is amazing recreations as well, and a really fun place to go. Took us about 3 hours to go through the entire thing!

When I heard about this place I was told it is a cowboy museum. WOW! It is so much more!! 12.50 for admission is well worth it!! It is SO much bigger than it looks like from the outside. It closea at 5 but I overheard an employee telling another guest that they've never chased anyone out that was there past 5. The art exhibits are amazing!! There are life size models of cowboys with amazing detail. The outside exibit has old western buildings as well as Native American replica dwellings. If you're in Oklahoma City this is an absolute must!!!
