Great place to chill on sunny summer Sunday afternoon! Rent a SUP, paddle down the river for a while the head back for some live music on the dock. If you live in lower CT like I do, it’s a great getaway up the coast. The shop has a huge selection of paddle boards as well as fishing equipment. The staff is really knowledgeable and can answer all of your questions. It’s really hidden gem and would encourage anyone to check it out.

We did the sunset SUP tour and it was phenomenal!! We lucked out with perfect weather and perfect water conditions, and got to make it onto the sandbar at the mouth of the river. Kevin was a super gracious host and definitely knew what he was doing! We had the option (I think because we were a small group) to do either the SUP or the kayak for this sunset tour and still went with the paddle boards. Equipment looks very new, clean, and well-maintained. We would definitely go back here -- and plan to next summer, if we can't make it back in the fall. They also do a full moon tour which sounds super rad!!

First time kayaking and Black Hall Outfitters couldn't have been better. Reasonable prices, friendly service. Very helpful. Had a great time kayaking. Very scenic, almost no boat traffic and great weather. All around good time. Will definitely be back.

Website is very easy to use. Staff are friendly enough. Although I did feel like just another tourist being put through the same old routine. There didn't seem to be any real enthusiasm from the staff. But again, it was a very well maintained location. Very organized. Plenty of parking and beautiful scenery.

We were 10mins late but they were flexible and moved us up to the next time slot. Nice!!! The kayaks and paddle board were in great condition and the staff were friendly and helpful getting us in and out of the kayaks. The scenery is beautiful and one of the best places in CT for these activities. Kids and I had a great time. Will definitely be back.
