I had an incredible experience with Deschutes River Cyclery. Wonderful customer service and all around a pleasant experience. During this time of social distancing biking is a wonderful reprieve and way to get outside. Adam fixed up my bike to the nines! It rides like a dream. Thank you so much!

Worst customer service ever. When a customer brings in a bike for repairs here are some tips on what you shouldn’t do. 1. Tell the customer that the repairs will most likely cost more than the bikes. That is a disregard for the customer and a complete lack of any kind of compassion towards customer as human beings. We all have different abilities to buy bikes and all bikes should be respected as the customer is paying for the service. Not to be demeaned. 2. Do not tell the customer that they should just get better bikes. Again, not everyone can afford multi-thousand dollar bikes. This is such a horrible was to present your business to the community at large. I sincerely hope that your business doesn’t treat people like this on a continued basis. You had a paying customer at your business that you turned away for no reason other than your total lack of awareness for people and their bikes. Your type of customer service serves no purpose in our community. Olympia is a warm and inviting place to live and your standards are clearly not up to par with this community and it’s members. You should be ashamed for the way you treat people simply because you judge a book by its cover. I will not be singing any praises towards your company to anyone in the community. Do better. Be better.

THANK YOU, for giving me faith in the idea that customer service makes a difference. I brought a tandem bike to these guys, that had shifting problems, l figured a derailer adjustment . Not a high end tandem, but one that gets my wife out on the Chehalis Western trail on the weekends. Their initial quote was more than l paid for the bike new, 7 years ago. After letting them know it’s expected usage, they did just the work necessary, keeping the cost more than reasonable. They were also smart enough to schedule an evaluation. 3 other bike stores in Olympia/Lacey were so far out on their repair time, yet wanted to keep the bike sitting in their shops for 7-10 days just to give an estimate! De chutes River Cyclery let me bring it in the night before ,evaluated it the next day, and finished the work the day after that. Great job people, you have won a customer for life!

Great customer service! It’s the time when every bike shop is two weeks out for any service and don’t take time to answer questions. I called Deschutes... spoke with Shawn on the phone who was very friendly... I told him that I have a front derailer problem. He said bring it in and I’ll take a look... and he did... took him about 3 min for adjustments and he didn’t even want to charge anything. They are busy servicing bikes and have two week out schedule... but taking time for each customer is what makes me want to come back for service or purchase. Thank you, DRC!

Knowledgeable, helpful staff! Fun fact: you can tip cash or card which I think is pretty rad as a fellow service industry person. So, ya know, don't forget to tip your bike mechanic/sales people!
