My 32 year old daughter was taken from our hotel room by ambulance to the ER with symptoms of a stroke including slurred speech, sagging mouth and muscle weakness on one side. She was discharged less than 2 hours later with a diagnosis of fatigue and told to take a baby aspirin. When we finished our car ride home to another state 5 days later, her primary care doctor ordered a stat MRI. The diagnosis came back positive for a stroke. I was not impressed that the obvious was not addressed at Creighton University Medical Center. Because of this she now has countless months of various therapies ahead of her which most likely would have been shortened or avoided with a correct diagnosis at the beginning.
