Great spot to sit and think. If can deal with the occasional motorist crossing the bridge and the inadequate boating access, it a great natural park.

Practically impossible to launch a kayak from this spot. I went three different times thinking maybe I was there during especially low water times and everytime it was at least a foot drop to the water, no where you could even slide in. Might be able to manage launching a canoe especially with two people here but I still see it being difficult. It's naturally a beautiful area but this isn't even close to being a launch area. Oakhurst has an actual kayak launch so I'll have to stick with that until changes are made here.

Water is a little high today. Still a bunch of storm debris on the banks. Onslow county should look into a new kayak launch.
