Take a hike below the statue. It is steep on the upper trail and steeps leading down to the the river. It is a nice drive in the country to get there. Great for a short hike, picnic and the view was beautiful. They have a Camp ground also.

A very quiet and peaceful location overlooking the river, and featuring an imposing work of art from Chicago s colorful past. Taft also sculpted the two native American statues in downtown, and the massive piece in Hyde Park.
I grew up near this place and the view from the top of the park is really nice. Has a nice staircase walk to a natural spring at the bottom. Super refreshing water!
It has a scenic overlook with a great view of the river. The picnic areas are nice as well.
The statue looks awesome! Great family fun event to check out and take a walk on the paths while your there
