Austin Historical recently restored our original wood windows to their former glory. Not only do they look absolutely beautiful, they function perfectly now! We haven’t been able to open our windows since we moved in 6 years ago as they were all painted shut by a previous owner, so we are thrilled we can open them all now. Jodi was our point of contact, and she was always very responsive and helpful. Carmelo and the rest of the team were punctual, efficient, and meticulous. Restoring instead of replacing was so important to us, and I can’t recommend Austin Historical enough!

I am so thrilled to recommend Austin Historical (Scott Silder, president) as a contractor after completing a home renovation as well as window restoration. From the moment I interacted with this company we felt that they were knowledgeable and had a passion for renovating older homes. We had previously met with several other builders who felt daunted and less knowledgeable about options for the structural challenges (angled ceilings, dormer windows, angled roof lines) that the character of older homes provide. From the start, I could tell that Scott and his team were experienced and had a true skill and passion for their craft. Home renovating can be on overwhelming project, however I felt that they were extremely patient and helpful and innovated creative options that were in keeping with the character of our home. Furthermore, they kept us informed with any unforeseen schedule changes and we felt that their team did everything possible to make the renovation process run as smoothly and comfortably as possible. Their company (from the president, office staff and workers) is organized, friendly, very-skilled, hardworking, thankful and professional. In particular, they prioritize integrity and quality of their work and treat the client and their home with respect and gratitude. I really want to acknowledge them for the high-quality renovation they completed and I am very satisfied with their service. They stand behind their work and I would highly recommend their company. On a personal note, they are one of the friendliest companies that I have worked with which reflects a well-run business that encourages creativity in the workplace and takes care of their employees. Thanks again!

What a great company to work with! I bought my 1920 home a few years, which still had the original windows that were not in great shape. They leaked and the single panes let road noise penetrate easily. Knowing that these windows are such an integral part of my home, I was hoping to have them restored, rather than replaced with inferior substitutes. Fortunately, I was able to find a local company, Austin Historical, that had the knowledge and experience to do the job. I looked; there are not many companies in the country that offer these type of services. After a thorough inspection from the owner, Scott, I could tell he knew what he was doing. The bonus was the price for restoration was comparable with window replacement, except now my windows are ready for another 100 years, rather than needing to be replaced in 20-30 years as modern windows require. Quite the cost savings over time. Also, Austin Historical was able to construct new storm windows from scratch to match the architecture of my home and provide protection for the restored sash windows as well vastly reduce road noise. As the restoration went along, there were some issues the cropped up, but Austin Historical was very responsive in remedying each issue. That's uncommon in my experience dealing with contractors. Customer satsifaction is #1 with Austin Historical. Marla was the project manager, and she was fantastic. Theon led a crew of three working on site, and they really busted their tails getting the job done. Everyone with Austin Historical was friendly and a pleasure to work with. If you're debating whether to restore or replace (as I was initially), I can confidently say that Austin Historical makes that choice easy: Restore. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so these pictures show what a great job they do. Before, during, and after.

Our experience with Austin Historical was fantastic; we were determined to try to salvage as much of the original windows as possible. They were able to restore all 18 original (1935) windows to their original function and beauty. They delivered on the expectations as far as he process and the schedule. We couldn't be happier.

Very impressed with Austin Historical! Their professionalism and prompt responses made it easy to rate them 5 stars. It was a pleasure working with Grant and Mike on the UF project. We look forward to working with them again.
