I have been a patient of Dr Roman for almost 4 years as my post transplant Hepotologist. Polite and to the point, Dr Roman is a great Dr that will certainly not pull any punches or make you guess what her thoughts are. There are many reasons that the practice at Advent has the highest one year survival rate for liver transplantation in the entire country and Dr Roman is one of those reasons and I am grateful that she has been an integral part of my successful recovery. Dr Roman is 5 star plus in my book!

I really like Dr Roman. She is good to talk to and discusses options and pros and cons of each choice. Better than "we'll do this" . I feel really comfortable with her and feel like I'm in good hands there. Cons (Advent - Not Dr Roman) the appointment scheduling is a serious pain. Not on Dr Roman certainly. Seems to be more of an Advent issue, but you think they could have a better system. Its hard when you have complex issues to keep track of all of that and I wish Advent would do a better job of overall management. I selected my doctors in the same system so all would have visibility and honestly its only slightly better than just winging it on your own. Advent should provide a 'care coordinator' for those with complex conditions over multiple disciplines. Similar to Mayo.

Saw this doctor once. She was pleasant in the office and seemed great. But .... when I left I was ordered labs and an MRI. Since I work for a different hospital I asked that all my tests be conducted at my hospital so that i would have better insurance coverage. Then with out my knowledge or consent (1 month after my one visit to her) they requested a tissue sample from another hospital (Cleavland clinic) and RERAN a test that i already had results on. This is costing me 561.00. Problem #1) I never authorized this but they were able to use that form you sign before seeing the doctor to circumvent my consent. #2) I have never received the results of this (2nd) said test (and honestly I dont really want them as I have said this test was already done). When I explained this issue to the lab billers and Dr Roman's office staff i just keep getting the run around to call the other guy and that they cant/won't help me. Who does a test on their pt without consent. I'm in health care as well and I'm appalled at the way this is turning out. I will update this post at a later date to let you know how this process was handled if it ever is. So far it seems like they will send me to collections and try to ruin my credit.
