Got here during Xmas holidays when the place was closed, understandably, this is a year and a season when families really need each other and to be together. No one to let us into anywhere can't comment on the museum interior collection. We were really there for some photos which was just great because outside on stand-alone tracks there was an old caboose(?) and two antiquated passenger cars. Most of all I liked the solid, classic lines of the brick and stone station itself. That is in excellent repair, a beautiful example of period architecture

I love history, and I love going on adventures. This hidden gem gave the best of both! Located on the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River, in the rolling hills of the river valley, it was a fabulous escape from the city for a day. From the historical ticket office, museum and gift shop to the train itself, we were taken back to another point in time in our nation's history. We chose to take the basic 90 minute excursion which did not include any extras, and was very affordably priced. We packed our own lunch and enjoyed it from our seats as we set off to enjoy the stunning scenery. There are other options available like the \the pizza train\, dinner trips and other specialty trips throughout the season. I especially loved going from car to car along the way to see the different historically depicted decor and hearing from the various volunteers dressed in train costumes, providing facts and stories of the train and much more. The scenery all along the way was stunning, and crossing the old iron bridge was very exciting. In on of the cars there was a store which offered snacks/drinks, and a small variety of train toys and memorabilia. Once we were back to the station, we knew that was just the beginning of our day's adventure, as the beautiful river town of Osceola had so much more to explore and enjoy!

Took my niece and nephew here, as they both love trains they had great fun and raved the whole way home about going back. We head the 90-minute round trip to Marine on St. Croix, the scenery was beautiful and the volunteers who staff the train were fun and informative. Will, definitely be going back here again.

Fall color train scheduled at 10:00am , 12:00pm and 2:00am. This ride is about 90min. There are heated and non heated compartments. Since is cold make sure you stay in heated. Train ride isn’t scenic at all other than just trees and 30 sec of st Croix river. As of now the fall color seen were yellow and red while on board. Train doesn’t go through any tunnels and does not go on any long scenic bridges but one noticeable bridge. There is compartment where you can dine in. Possible celebrate bday party on board. There are many other rides scheduled like pumpkin ride from 3rd week of October and some other jolly rides. Do look at the website for more information. 20 for adult and 12 for kids 6-12 and under 2 ride for free. Best way to enjoy the ride is not to sit inside the compartments but stand in balconies and enjoy the ride. I don’t think it’s that fun that I would return again. Make sure to check out a excellent waterfall near by then Osceola station near watershed cafe. It has some awesome views

Took a really nice, scenic brunch ride with a tour group. It was a lot of fun, with some great sites. The train itself was authentic and we'll preserved. Would like to go again.
