Gravel boat ramp and porta potties. East end of Hutchinson connects to Shiner lake through narrow waterway. Fun morning paddle.

I found the public access to these two lakes quite nice. Besides the obvious canoe launch, user trails follow the shore of Hutchinson Lake. Getting to Shiner Lake is more difficult on foot, but possible. I found a wrecked pickup over the cliff by Shiner. How it got there leaves one wondering.
Quiet and peaceful with good panfish fishing
The entrance is a long winding road comprised of dirt and rock. The parking lot is quite close to the water, but it's a gravel lot and not wheelchair friendly. There is one portable toilet, it also is not wheelchair accessible. Access to any shoreline is not readily apparent. Don't expect to walk the shoreline, it's all weeds and water plants. There is a small boat launch. To the immediate left of the boat launch is a well hidden dock (about 4' by 10'). My husband fished off of this while I read a book. Very quiet and relaxing. We went on a Thursday morning in June. The weather was excellent and no flying bugs or mosquitoes.
