I'll start with the positives. The receptionist is an absolute sweetheart. Shes kind, efficient and personable. The ultrasound tech I've seen each time is an absolute gem. She's knowledgeable, quick without rushing and has a great bedside manner. Most of the doctors have been good too. Except one. I can't remember her name but she's a brunette woman in her 40s. She was condescending and made me feel rushed and like a bother. They've also done a poor job at communicating with my doctor. Each time, they haven't sent him my results and he's had to reach out to them to request the information. Which they always seem to be confused about. They referred me to a different location closer to my house but that location had no knowledge of it and I wasn't even in their system.

I was referred to this office by my gynecologist because in my previous pregnancy my water fully erupted at 30 weeks. I have visited this office twice and each time the girl working the front desk has been rude. I called them this last Friday to see if they could see me because I was in so much pain and the girl working the front desk told me I needed to be referred by my gynecologist. She didn’t even bother looking at my chart or the notes on file. Had she looked she would have known that I’m already a patient at there office. I was told I would get a call back from the nurse, that never happened. When I called them back the front desk was so rude she was upset that I asked her if she had let the nurse know I was waiting on her call. When I spoke to the nurse, the nurse her self had no idea that the reason I was seeing them was because my cervix was at 3cm. No one in that office has a clue about what the patient is being seen for!!! Today I had to cancel my appointment and the front desk girl laughed at my husband when he was telling her I wasn’t feeling good. This is now the second time she has laughed at us when we call!!!! I’m very disappointed with the customer service they provide at this office. Always rude and short!!!

Finley and Cowles are both Very knowledgeable. I started scans but ended up being admitted at 29 weeks due to the blood flow in the cord and the baby measuring small. They followed me to delivery, visiting daily sometimes multiple times in a day. They have to tell you the hard stuff but taking the time to talk things through made the hard stuff a little easier to hear. My little came early but didn't even need oxygen. We were blessed and couldn't have done it without their expertise.

My husband and I have been trying to start a family for 6 years. After 3 failed IUI cycles and moving onto IVF, we're finally pregnant with 2 sweet little souls. Now, while I don't expect everyone in the world to be jumping for joy for us at the same level of excitement we are, I feel like any doctor, nurse or office dealing with pregnant women should have some sort of bedside manner or pleasantness to them. It can be an uncomfortable, scary, uneasy time for any mom, especially a new one. We were SO excited for our first appointment with a specialist and instead of a warm, welcoming appointment, the tech was polite but barely spoke to us. She asked my husband to stop recording our ultrasound (to share with our family) because \they don't know what they'll find\ (?). I had to ask, repeatedly, which baby was on the screen, what she was measuring, what we were looking at, if everything looked OK... because, again, NEW MOM here!? Our appointment was at 13 weeks along (which I know is a little earlier than normal to see a specialist), but it was apparent they felt like we were there unnecessarily early and it was almost an annoyance of an appointment. My friend is pregnant with 2 twin boys and her specialist was able to tell the genders at 13 weeks, so when I halfheartedly asked our tech if it was possible to see, she very bluntly said 'it's too early,' and didn't even humor us with a look. The doctor was in the room for maybe 90 seconds and then simply said to see our OB for everything and that we could come back at 20 weeks. Needless to say, we've found a different specialist to see. It's our first and possibly only pregnancy we'll ever have and I'd rather spend our time and money at a doctor's office that can at least pretend to be happy to have us as patients.

I was referred here by my midwife for an in depth sonogram and fetal EKG. I had asked them if I could fill out the paperwork before I got there so I didn't have to leave work early to do it in their office. They refused. I live 90 minutes away. When I got there, I found the girls at the front desk to be very rude. They weren't even fake friendly. After filling out the required paperwork, my husband and I waited. Patients came in after us and were taken back immediately while we were forced to wait an hour to be seen. Once we did go back, the nurse asked pretty much all the questions that I had just filled out on the 5 pages of paperwork. She mentioned the doctor might want to see me again. I told her no, as we live 90 minutes away, my husband and I both had to leave work to come, and I was just coming in for diagnostic testing unavailable in my home town. The sonographer Anna was nice. She gave us some nice angles and confirmed our baby was a girl. Dr Ridgway came in and he was very competent. He wasn't particularly friendly and didn't say much as he was looking over our child. It would have been nice for him to have told us everything looked good (which thanks Heavens it did!) but I was kind of starting to panic and he was looking at the baby's heart, lungs, brain and he wasn't saying anything! I do appreciate they gave us the results right there. I also appreciate the genetic counselor who was very kind, professional, and friendly. I would not, however, come back here. The waiting room was full of loud, screaming children, we had to wait an hour to be seen (on top of the 3 hours round trip to get there), and the staff wasn't friendly enough for me. I am seriously having second thoughts about delivering at Overland Park Regional now.
