Visited Murphy Ranch today, it was a great hike but the stairs definitely exhausted me. I tried to walk every path that I could find. It's interesting that millions was spent to build this site and it went to waste. Would have been nice if the City of Los Angeles could have built a camp here.

As a hiker and runner this is not somehere that will go back to. Do not go by yourself. A good place to have a photoshoot. Something new. Great tree formation even the fallen ones. But it is not hiker friendly. One wrong turn you will get lost. No signs and maps. Just no trespassing sign or no smoking. The rest you have to find on your own. No network. So when you get lost try to remeber where you came from because no one will find you or trace you. Speaking from our experience 4 days ago
It’s changed a lot over the last few years. Now only one main building to look at. It’s a decent city hike and the graffiti is cool though.
Its a really nice place to hike. You just need to be careful were you step at because I almost step a snake.
Great local place to see a few animals and spend an hour or two (at most) with kids. Staff is friendly and informative.
