We have been so very pleased with our pup and the Best Retriever puppy imprinting program. The level of care in interviewing us (w/ Kristen -owner) before we picked our puppy was critical, looking back, to make sure we were matched well. We wanted a couch dog with superb hunting retriever skills — and that’s what we have! ️ We did duck retriever training at home, but the 2-week puppy imprinting course with Best was essential. The master hunter genetics, matching process, and loving puppy training (w/ Victoria) from Best are all very evident in our pup today. He’s perfect!

I have had several dogs over the years and have trained most of them myself. Never again. My dog, Cannon was trained at Best Retreivers and I’ll never have another dog that is not trained there! They took their time to make sure that Cannon (and I) were properly trained and almost 2 years later, I still have absolutely zero problems. He went through their Obedience course and the difference is astounding!! I really like that they use positive reinforcements (like praise and treats) so that Cannon wants to do whatever he is asked to do. From the place bed, to heeling, to getting into his kennel whenever I am not home, he was trained correctly and positively. I can not recommend them any higher. They are the absolute “BEST”.

I have had dogs trained by Best Retrievers since the buisness opened and can honestly say that the owners Rody and Krisin Best are 2 of the kindest and most generous people I know. They truly tailor the training to the dog's ability and are not a cookie-cutter training facility where every dog is expected to conform to the trainer's style. My first dog reached senior hunt test level and 2nd was a Master Hunter. My 3rd one going through there program is only 2 years old and expects to obtain his Master Hunter title this spring. I have found their communication style to be as much as you request. Rody works dogs all day and then takes the time to send progress updates and vidoes of the dogs in the field in the evenings when most of us are done working for the day. As to the negative review below, I have a hard time believing the woman who says her dog was not cared for. I have been to their facility many times and it is always clean and dogs are closely monitored daily. Dogs in training are athletes and they will occasionally get injured or even sick just like humans do. Any time a dog of mine had even a suspected issue I recieved a call from the trainer and received daily updates as to how it was being resolved. I would not hesitate to recommend Best Retrievers for any level of training for you and your dog and would highly encourage you to reach out to them to schedule a tour to see for yourself how elite their staff and training facility is. When you have a dog go through training at Best Retrievers, you transform from being a client to being a friend of Best Retrievers by the time your dog is finished....Don't take my word for it, just take a look at their facebook page if you have any doubts!

Buyers Beware! Our 6 month old puppy spent 3 weeks at Best Retrievers. The first week and a half appeared to go well. However, for the last 10 days of her stay there, she contracted bordetella, pneumonia and mycoplasma (another form of pneumonia) and visited their vet multiple times. Three times we offered to bring her home, but we were repeatedly told that she was \doing better\. We were also told by their trainer, Johnson, that vet bills would be covered by Best Retrievers. Their Vet, Dr. Kalmbach of Central Texas Animal Hospital called us after having our dog on 10 days of an antibiotics and told us to \get your dog out of that place\. When we picked her up, she was gravely ill. We immediately took her to our Vet, who confirmed her illnesses and said she should have never been allowed to stay as long as she had. Her treatment was subpar and the reason she was so ill. She's been home for 5 days and continues to suffer with kennel cough, lethargy, constant vomiting and eye/nose discharge. The owner, Kristen Best, has refused to provide a refund for the final week (where we were told she was lying sick in a corner) and is refusing to cover Vet bills for treatment when our dog was in their care. Unbelievable. We would never recommend this place and this owner's response demonstrates a total lack of professionalism. Find dog training elsewhere!

I have been so happy with the training both of my dogs have received. My pups are always happy to go to school. the trainers love what they do and know each dogs personality and work with them as individuals; which is why they are successful at what they do. They are the “Best”!!
