Great paddling trails and very pleasant , large and semi-secluded campsites. Excellent splash pad for the kiddos. Laundry facilities here, which is unusual for state parks. Great convocation shelters and many of them. A great place for family reunions. Only reason for 4 stars is that there are no sewer hookups at campsites, but this is typical of state parks.

I absolutely LOVE Palmetto! It so peaceful along the trails and camping is so much fun. Tents and RVs welcome. I love the lake and even caught sockolet and alligator sightings are always exciting. The wildlife and beautiful scenery make for great photos or sketching. The splash pad is also great for hot summer days and cool water fun, but bring sunscreen! 10/10 and 5/5 stars HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Excellent canoe trail, fun fishing spots, and the cabins are cozy and fully furnished with every thing you need. A little light on regular trails but that is to be expected in a location like this. Lots of wildlife to see. Fantastic state park! We will be returning to this one again.

Absolutely love it. In fact we just paid to stay an extra day. We come on weekdays so park is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful southern scenery. This is November 10th 2020
