Parish is one of those restaurants you want to love but falls short because of it’s atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of downtown Macon, it’s convenient and has a large dining area. The food is slightly overpriced for the area however the quality and presentation of the dishes are better than most. While touting itself as a creole style establishment I had a hard time finding many dishes that spoke of the true French influence. There was a live musician playing just inside the doorway at the front of the bar area. While this may have been a great addition for evenings, at 11am on a Saturday, it ruined our brunch. The music was entirely too loud even at our table in the rear of the dining area. This made a fun relaxing outing difficult because we were constantly having to lean over the table and speak in elevated levels to hear conversation. The waitress’s performance was excellent and she was quite attentive. The restroom however was in shambles meaning someone did not follow up on whoever was responsible for its care. The dirty restrooms, overly loud music, and the lack of true namesake dishes leads me to believe Parish is really a regular bar that serves food versus a restaurant that sells alcohol. This is the reason for the lack of the fifth star. I would probably return for a different occasion versus morning brunch with out of town family.

Upgraded my rating based on a brunch visit. Bloody Mary was so good I had to have another one! Crab cake eggs Benedict was very good. Eggs were perfect (runny yolks) crab didn't overpower the rest. Will definitely go back for weekend brunch.
we went for Valentine's day dinner & this was our first time going. i had heard good things but nothing could've prepared me for how awesome both the service AND the food is! Madison was our server & he was just awesome! he checked on us constantly & the food came out fast & we waited less than 2 minutes to be seated. some of the best food & service i've had in a really long time. i can't wait to see this place grow.
Customer service was great, but I didn't enjoy the food. It is supposed to be a southern/Louisiana inspired seafood restaurant, but most of the dishes were okay. In fact, I was sick shortly after eating there. Again, the environment was nice and the customer service was great, but the food wasn't.
Great food. Bread pudding and vanilla ice cream a much deserved winner.
