My son Andrew has taken Aikido at the Parker, CO location for nearly 2 years. The instructors for Kiryu are top notch and thorough. And this is school is more than just another martial arts school. The instructors really care about their students. When sensei Les learned that my son was applying for his Eagle Scout rank, Les was kind enough to write a letter of recommendation. This is just one example of the care that the instructors show the students of this school.

I started Aikido training later in life and I have been a student at Kiryu Aikido for two years now. It has been a great experience with benefits that I wouldn't have anticipated when I started. From both mental and physical fitness to flexibility, confidence and camaraderie, there's something for everyone in Aikido training. Kiryu has excellent instructors and a very accommodating learning environment. I highly recommend anyone to check it out!

I started at Kiryu Aikido in 2009 after training for over 15 years in a variety of styles. I enjoy the consistent attention to basics and weapon work (staff and wooden sword) and how the weapon movements help our open hand techniques. Andrew Blevins sensei constantly pushes us to improve by both focusing on technical details and working just outside our comfort zones so we can continue to move forward in our understanding of aikido.

I've been practicing at Kiryu Aikido since 2006 and it's been without question a great experience. Our teacher, Andrew Blevins Sensei, is an amazingly talented Aikidoist as well as a gifted teacher. We practice strong, traditional Aikido, and emphasize the importance of ukemi (learning to roll and fall to protect oneself). Instead of having separate beginner classes, new students are integrated into regular classes at a slower pace, and I soon saw the benefit of this when I started as a complete newby. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy our strong, safe Aikido practice. Choosing Kiryu Aikido as my dojo and Blevins Sensei as my teacher are the best decisions I ever made.
