Built in 1898, Castle Green was designed by architect Frederick Louis Roehrig as an annex to the Green Hotel on the opposite side of Raymond Avenue. It was connected to the first part of the hotel with an ornate enclosed bridge crossing the street. The original hotel and part of the bridge were demolished after a fire. The hotel was built by George G. Green, a patent medicine entrepreneur. In 1903 Green added a third building, incorporating an earlier building which had been the original site of California Institute of Technology / Throop University. It is now apartments. In 1982 the entire block was added to the National Register of Historic Places and City of Pasadena’s list of Historic Places. Castle Green is now condominiums and is not open to the public except during annual guided tours.

A serene park setting for an outdoor wedding with stately trees, koi pond and spacious lawns. Beautiful! The historical interior is perfectly preserved and very charming.

Just married here on 2/17/18 was the absolute BEST PLACE and we looked EVERYWHERE and I am not kidding! Castle Green was the absolute best location to get married if you are in to vintage decor, history, historical structures, and the best ambiance around. It has everything that you will need and Dior was so helpful and lovely while we were planning, I recommend this place to any and every one who is looking for a spectacular venue to get married in! Plus it is very affordable compared to other venues in and around Los Angeles! Check it out! You will NOT regret it.

Beautiful Palace! Everything inside is original giving it that homey feel. And Dior, the Event coordinator is the best! She strives to make sure event is one of the best!

We visited many different venues around Los Angeles, Glendale, Arcadia, and Pasadena for our wedding ceremony and reception. We ended up choosing Castle Green, not just because of the historical architecture and mesmerizing view, but because of the customer service. Dior, the Event Manager at Castle Green, was such a pleasure to work with. She was always smiling and so fun to be around with. We also met and worked with Alexis. She was so friendly and helpful. We loved working with them both. The venue was definitely one of the pricier expenses for the wedding but it was seriously worth every time. You get the venue for the entire day. We maximized our time there with our first look, tea ceremony, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The venue fit our amount of guests of a little over 100 very comfortably. Everyone raved about the venue. My now-husband's mom even said it was the perfect venue. We were so excited to host our wedding here because it was no-like any other wedding venues that we've been to. From the set-up, the capacity of the multiple rooms, the layout, to the many, many, many places to take photos within Caste Green, I have no regrets choosing Castle Green for my wedding. We even got to go on the manual elevator to the rooftop for photos -- definitely a must-do if you decide to book with Castle Green.
