I have been retired (disability) safety member since 2004. My ex-wife was and is not a LACERA member. HOWEVER, LACERA treats her with the \Red Carpet\ hello and I legally end up having to provide for her over 60% of my retirement! LACERA Never...I mean NEVER helped me gain some insight and to understand how divorce impacts a person. I scheduled three separate 1:1 meetings on Saturdays to learn and get info. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. NOW I have a Court Order signed by a Judge ordering them to pay me Retroactive Retirement PARTIAL Payments for 8 months! They will NOT DO THAT! So I am broke, sold just about everything to survive. And Now I have to hire an Attorney? For MY MONEY! LACERA is not doing me any favors...OK? And they did NOT prepare me adequately by informing me of the possible outcomes on my retirement. My Ex-Wife's Attorney sure as hell Knew!

I did 4 one-in-one counseling sessions. Each time, I received either contradictory information, or crucial information that had not been relayed to me in the prior sessions. They give you figures that are subsequently rescinded, yet they tell you that their figures are \ very accurate\. Your make life-altering decisions based on their information, only to find out that their \accurate\ information is inaccurate. Inexcusable
FOR YOUR WEB SITE! i have been trying to access my Lacera for two days. I have been locked out for two days. I tried to reset my password but was not allowed to do so. I called and stayed on the phone for 20 minutes only to be told my call could not be answered. Nor was there a selection for technical issues. I am so glad that your website services do not reflect your retirement services

Attention retired members!!! LACERA failed to send my retirement check which was due August 1, 2019. I have contacted LACERA regarding this problem several times. My first call was made on August 2. This call was followed by additional calls on the 5th, 7th,and 9th. I am still waiting for a factual honest answer regarding when i would receive my retirement check. I am not a recent retiree and therefore should not be experiencing this problem. This review is not a welcomed revelation. I believe it needed to be addressed in a form that possibly will focus LACERA on the problem. I have been patient and listened to false assurances from the various levels of individuals at LACERA. PROVIDING ONE STAR IS TRUTHFULLY MORE GENEROUS THAN THAT WHICH IS DESERVED!!!!!!
This retirement association has created such a great hardship in trying to set my father’s affairs in order after his passing. LACERA, your policies that are set are extremely stupid. Your organization creates greater hardships for families that are already suffering. Do not tell families that are hurting that they will have a seamless “stress free” process with your organization, as that is a false statement. Get it together!!!!
They are very profeessional and helpfull.
Had people tell me one thing and do another. Took 2 months plus to get a payment. They put a hold on payment. Even after submitting a hardship. My checking account got closd had to move out of a rented room. . Better not happen again.
