I've tried other acupuncturist and hands down Dr. Mei is the best. I suffer from back and hip pain. After one, two sessions I feel like a new man. My family and I have been going to Dr. Mei for many years and highly recommend her.

My entire family sees MEI because she is the best acupuncturist we have found. Furthermore, I cannot say enough about her massages and cupping. When I was pregnant with each of my boys, MEI is the only one who could not only provide me with relief from my aching back, neck and shoulders; but actually relieved the pain in a way that kept it at bay for long periods of time. I don't know what I would have done without her. All this is aside from her kind and friendly disposition. Highly recommended.

I went to Mei the first time more than 10 years ago and every time I have pain that may be treated with acupuncture I go to her and I get the relief that I could not get otherwise, with drugs or other expensive and invasive treatments. The most recent reason for visiting Mei was an excruciating pain to an inflamed peroneal nerve down to the foot, which had lost its dorsiflexion motion. Before visiting Mei I went to my trusted foot doctor who only prescribed a useless brace. I was in extreme pain but that's what I got. He referred me to a neurologist who made the issue way bigger than it was and prescribed an MRI and a neurological exam. Again the pain was not their concern. After going to Mei I immediately felt great benefit and pain relief from her acupuncture, massage of the specific area, and cupping. This was a glaring failure of Western medicine! I opted out of the MRI and neurological exam and I got progressively better with Mei's treatment. Her technique worked very well in my case, although there may be rare cases, especially for people requiring needles in the head (see other review), in which additional treatment may be necessary. Mei is very knowledgeable in her specialty and has an incredible perseverance and dedication in isolating the cause of the pain and devise the appropriate local treatment strategy. And she is also very modest: she would never give lengthy explanations on why you need more treatment or try to ask to have more sessions. She listens very carefully to your description of the pain condition and is very responsive to trying different approaches. That is why she is my first point of reference for pain treatment. I wrote very few reviews in my life but Mei deserves this one and more.

e careful when trying acupuncture. I had a great experience with another doctor but not this one. The first time I went she put needles in my head and back. My old acupuncturist never put needles in the affected area. I left with a terrible headache that lasted the rest of the day and no relief in my back. Ok, so different doctors treat people differently and I understand that. I wanted to give her another shot. I provided feedback in the next appointment which was accepted real well. She changed the technique and no head needles. Again she put needles in my back which were extremely painful. When I left I was real sore. After getting home, I started to make dinner. When I reached down for a pot and I could not get back up. I was in so much pain from my back. I had to call someone to come and pick me up off the floor. I needed help to shower and get dressed. I am in so much pain and can barely walk! It feels how it did when I first sustained this injury. I understand that people may make mistakes but geesh! When I called this morning to ask a few questions and let her know what's going on she seemed so offended by my call. She basically said oh well I guess my technique did not help you, go see the other doctor (which is over an hour away by my old job). She would not give me a direct answer if this was normal. I was no where near this amount of pain before my session. So I am sharing this with you to warn you. Not every technique works the same for everyone and if it hurts SAY SOMETHING and DO NOT CONTINUE. The needles shouldn't hurt. If you do not get relief right away then it is not working.

I've been seeing Mei for years and she knows her stuff. I've seen other Accupunctuists in the past and while I can say that the experience has been more or less comprable, the thing that sets her apart is that if you go in for one thing she'll just deal with that till it's better (unless you say otherwise which over time I did and it was great). No up sells, no dealing with long winded explanations unless you want them. In other words, you're comfortable that you'll get the relief you're looking for without a lengthy commitment. If you're in pain she'll always make time to see you first and make sure you're better when you go. That's why I've seen her for this long. And that's why I'm writing this. It's just who she is.
