At 24 I had a tumor and had just moved to LA. My radiologist said it needed to be removed immediately and the assistant gave me two business cards for surgeons. The nurse had also been diagnosed with cancer and whispered that Dr. Jeanie Shen was the better one to choose. As uncomfortable and worried as I was, Dr. Shen and Dr. Judy have the BEST bedside manner in explaining what to expect, risks, and necessary screening for the future. She was not only great at calming my fears, but extremely realistic about not paying for unnecessary testing that I couldn’t afford. The day of the surgery, she never rushed me and was so kind. A rare doctor to find. Excellent. Professional. Extremely compassionate staff. Anytime I mention her name at the breast imaging center downstairs, they sing her praises.
