What do you feed varsity football players the night before a big game? BIG, QUALITY STEAKS! I will forever be a loyal customer at Johnston's. They helped me figure out what I needed AND at a reasonable cost. SO friendly and willing to help. I can't thank them enough for making a team dinner night successful!

Drove three hours round trip on Christmas Eve to pick up a deer, after being told on the your-deer-is-ready call that they would be open until 2pm. Turns out they were, but not for deer pickups. Employees didn't really seem to care. Drove back a week later for pick-up, and asked to speak with the (new) owner. He declined to provide any discount or other tangible acknowledgement of Johnston's miscommunication, although I did receive several paragraphs of explanation regarding how it might have happened (temp employee, ...). More important, in past years, I have always been satisfied with the amount of meat that I received per deer, but I became suspect with the first deer from Johnston's this year. This second deer confirmed my suspicions: 21.2 lbs from an average-sized, clean-shot doe. I asked about the missing 10 lbs of burger that I had set as first priority, and which the owner had personally written on the sheet at drop-off (\I will just set 10 lbs aside when we start.\). He said there was apparently not enough meat on the deer, but that he had 10 lbs in the freezer he would give, which he did. I remain suspect and unfortunately will use a different processor next year.

Wonderful meat market. Fresh meats, cheeses, deli meats, salads, beef & venison sausage sticks, spices, marinades, etc. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Wanted to purchase a meat bundle, and was told they were a week and a half out (this was Thanksgiving time). I waited, and after three weeks I called, no not ready yet, we will call you...no call...I called again four days before Christmas, and was told not ready yet, no date for it to be ready...just told freezer compressor was broken. No apologies, just nope not ready. Very disappointed. Will not try them again.
