Very positive experience. I was recommended to this organization by my HR department from my employer after having a negative experience at another organization. The other prior experience vs gateway was a night and day difference. The first place I went to just treated me like a number and was all about money. At Pekin gateway I found counselors that actually care and take your recovery personally. When you need one on one counseling its never a problem and at group sessions you always get time to speak and give input. Very supportive. I came to them for help making positive changes in my life and and to learn and I achieved both of those goals with their help. Also they seem to have a very strong Alumni program and support to help you afterwards with recovery.

Gateway has been and continues to be a positive environment for me in my recovery. Kristi, Kyle, and Kim prove everyday that they have the tools and knowledge to help me overcome my addiction and get my life back on track. Without the encouragement, compassion, and support that I receive from the staff at the Pekin Intensive outpatient program I would have continued on a journey leading to incarceration or death. I look forward to my groups each day and always walk out feeling confident in my ability to make the right choices and head into a healthier way of life. I no longer dread waking up everyday continuing in my cycle of addiction, I now wake up everyday looking forward to creating a life I no longer wish to escape from!!!

It's all about the money, my son was doing well for a couple weeks in the Springfield facility and then someone came into his unit that along with his brother tried to kill my son a year ago and beat him almost unconscious so he was a little worried and thought he wouldn't be able to concentrate on his goal with this other person there and asked to be moved and there was another area he could go to but they didn't think that was a big enough deal to move him so out of fear he left, he has asked to be put in one of the other facilities but they won't return calls, i wish i had the picture of my son's face after they got done with him a year ago but i don't think they care, its all about the money.
