Very nice rv park and friendly staff. They are taking care to do contact free check-ins during these trying times. Beautiful trees are throughout the park and cute rustic cabins are available as well. There is a playground for the kiddies and a pool for family fun.

Last stay at this park under current management! I believe the manager who lacks people skills watches live videos of the park all day ready to attack at anytime, sending her office girls to do the dirty work who by the way are very nice! Rules are necessary yes but come on, a ticket on you car for your tire touching their grass? Being told you will be on a two car site to arrive to a one car site. My husband and I have stayed in many parks but have never experienced anything or anyone like this and had there been another park to accommodate us we would have been gone!!!!! Definitely not the Gem they claim to be and definitely not worth the money!!!!! Overnighters are not around long enough to see what it’s really like but campers staying longer will find out soon enough! More negative reviews out there so campers please read them ALL and think twice before booking with Birmingham South!

I really wanted to like this place. But within the 24 hours of staying here, I realized that I couldn't wait to leave. First, when I went into the office, the desk was roped off. I was told it was because they were practicing social distancing. Great! I loved that idea. The woman was even wearing a mask. Once the receptionist got my name and map, she came around the desk and stood 2 feet from me to explain the different rules they have. I didn't understand the point of having the desk roped off if she was just going to stand right beside me. Secondly, there are not pin codes or locks to the main door to the bathrooms. As a female, I didn't feel comfortable using the restrooms after the sun had set. The bathrooms also had an entry way that lead to the showers from both the men's and lady's bathrooms. There was no division and (again) anyone could just come into this section of the area. There were signs that stated to lock the door behind you once you were in the shower but a little extra security wouldn't hurt. Not to mention, one of the shower stalls didn't lock, one stall was backed up with water, and two shower stalls seemed to be locked the whole visit. Thirdly, this park is right off of a main road. All night you could hear police and fire truck sirens. There are also railroads close enough to this park that we were wakened several times in one night. With having two kids under 2 years old, this factor made it a long night for me and my husband. Lastly, I liked that they had a laundry room. However, there was not soap vending machines of any kind and the dryers took two cycles (2 hours) to dry one load of laundry. With all that being said, I will add that the property was cleaned and neat. There wasn't trash laying around and the grounds seemed to be well kept. It was also convenient that it was a few minutes from Oak Mountain.

Have stayed at the park a number of times. It is convenient as an overnight stay for our trips. Stay have always been friendly and helpful. Online registration and payment is easy. Check-in during COVID was very physically distanced and efficient. Park is clean, sites mostly level and easy to get around. Would stay there again. There are trains that go by from time to time, but did not bother us.

A very nice clean park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean. Has a nice selection of store items and propane on sight was convenient. A good easy stop over place to stay on our way down to Gulf Shores.

This was our 3rd stay at this park, it only gets better, super clean park, easy in and out with pull through sites. Close to everything we need and right off I-65. Nicely decorated with lots of Christmas lights. They are in the process of a complete remodel of the restrooms, making it even better. The staff is helpful and keep the park well groomed. We will be back...
