We rented Red Pine Cottage in late August 2020 - during Covid times- and it was Perfect. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Everything we wanted and needed. WCR&B were fantastic to work with on the booking and every question I had. The pictures do not do this justice. It’s serene, relaxing, calming, and just so nice and well maintained. You can hear the creek at the house. You can see the bottom of the creek from the porch as well. It’s amazingly clean. All kinds of wildlife can be spotted from the front porch. It’s ideally located to hike, kayak, and in general enjoy the mountains. I highly recommend this company and the properties, in particular the Red Pine Cottage.

Booked for VT Graduation weekend and was quoted a rate and charged for the costs. Leigh cancelled the reservation and then called saying they gave me the wrong rate for that weekend even though I specified it was for graduation. No apology for them quoting and charging the incorrect rate, just a very rude message a couple of weeks after booking when there was no other place to find. No accepting it was their mistake and letting the reservation stand, no negotiating on a new rate 'somewhere in the middle' , take the big increase or leave it and have no place for elderly grandparents to stay. Leigh was very controlling, stubborn and rude. NEVER again and beware the bait and switch for big VT weekends
Working with Leigh and Britt was a dream! We were their first wedding reception at the barn and all our guests thought they’d been open for years with how smoothly everything went! They’ve created a special place with weddings in mind for every detail, big and small! The barn is gorgeous and the service is top notch, I can’t give them or the venue a high enough review! Our bridal party also stayed at two of the cottages the night before the wedding and it was a perfect retreat before the big day! Such a blessing to wake up and sit on the porch while listening to the creek peacefully flowing. We were well rested and relaxed before getting ready and the big yard and creek made for a great photo backdrop!
We have fished with Britt and his guides for the past ten years. In those ten years we have never had a bad experience and our group plans to continue this annual event until we are no longer able to do it physically (we figure another 20 or so years). The cabins are always well kept, the staff friendly, and the fishing is an absolute blast! We typically spend about a week and always hate it when the week ends. If you are a fly fisherman, rest assured that Britt knows what he is talking about and will put you in the right place with the right fly. The rest is up to you.
Great place! Love the fishing in the creek and how accessible the owners are! If I could give it more than 5 stars I defintley would!
We booked all 5 cabins at Walker Creek Retreat for family attending our wedding at Mountain Lake Lodge. It was a wonderful way for everyone to stay together at an affordable cost (some cabins hold over 10 people!). There was wildlife everywhere, and we were able to enjoy campfires every night by the creek. Of note, cell phone reception is very limited and GPS does not work in this area making turn by turn directions necessary to find this location.
