When we arrived at Pepela for dinner, the manager of the restaurant was asleep on the couch. No one greeted us, so, like sheep, we had to find our own table. When the server finally arrived at our table, it seemed she had just woken up from a nap as well. Further, when asked for help with the menu, she had very little clue as to what was on it, or even what their offerings featured. When my Georgian friend asked for details about the authenticity of a dish she was interested in the server had no idea. After our food came, she left us alone, without paying any attention to us or asking us if we needed anything. We were the only people seated in the entire restaurant. She also couldn't give us any recommendations about which drinks paired well with certain foods. In terms of authenticity, and the look and feel of their interior, it is not Georgian. If you're looking for an authentic Georgian experience this is not the place to go. I rate this one star. The food tasted alright, but not delicious. I wouldn't go back.

Had a company holiday party here and the place was simply amazing! I have never had such delicious Georgian food before...especially the khachapuri. Also, the restaurant has an intimate ambiance that's perfect for a date night or party with friends. Will be back soon and would recommend to anyone!

Delicious appetizers (meat pie and the baked mushrooms). Would also recommend the chicken soup and entree. The veal was a bit over cooked, but the live music was a great touch. Worth a try!

Thank you for a very authentic experience. Very refreshing and interesting place. The whole place is full of interesting details and let's not forget the food :) it is realllly good! I had lamb chops and it was like butter. Also had salmon and was excellent as well.

Live music (both Russian tunes and jazz standards), robust and unique Georgian wines, friendly servers and the bright but classy decor are my top reasons for coming back after my first visit a year ago. I know I will return a third time and hopefully they will have more than one dessert option. I'm still thinking about the wine...

New York City: The eighth wonder of the world! At least that's what it feels like. With so many options for dining, nightlife, and adventure, why would you call it anything less? I attended a holiday party at Pepela back in December of 2013. About fifty or sixty other people were in attendance. We had the upstairs area reserved, and while the space was intimate, it never felt crowded. The bartenders made drinks strong and quick. The servers brought out plate after plate of hors d'oeuvres. There was never a moment during that night when the party seemed to sag. It was just a wonderful evening from beginning to end. While I haven't been to Pepela for a normal meal, I can say that their ability at hosting events is top-notch. Have your wedding, birthday, or bar-mitzvah party here. You'll get great Mediterranean food in an upscale environment. You couldn't ask for a better experience anywhere else!
