Wonderful little spot in the market.. Eat, drink, people watch... Staff is attentive and knowledgable.. Food is great, and well priced.. It's a spot that just makes me happy to be back in Philly... Cheers to Neuf..I'll be back...
Yum!!!!!! From start to finish dinner was delicious. The creativity of the dishes is extraordinary. An amazing blend of flavors. The only thing wrong with our dinner was the hard time we had trying to decide what to order, so many good choices. There were 4 of us and we had 4 appetizers, 4 entrees and shared a dessert. I'd be happy to have any of them again. My absolute favorite was the bulgur crusted fried oysters appetizers. Even one of my companions who doesn't normally eat oysters loved them. Alex, our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive & made us feel very comfortable. The rest of the staff kept our water glasses filled, without having to ask, and cleared our plates as soon as we were done but never rushed us. Most of the restaurants I've been to lately felt like I was sitting with the people at the next table. Neuf is spacious, you can hold a conversation without someone listening in, attractively decorated with photography and a place I can't wait to go back to.
Love the vibe, menu looks interesting, we ordered a chicken tajine for two. While the dish came with plenty of couscous and veggies, but I was really surprised chicken for two people consisted of a meatless backbone piece and a chicken leg... For 30! That's not the way to insure your customers return. I went home hungry.
Best service! Over the top friendly staff, never hovering, always attentive. We went for dinner. The food was amazing! We shared the spicy braised goat leg shakshuka to start, Caitlin had the Tunisian Meatballs with cauliflower and goat cheese, I had the Duck and savory bread pudding special. The service was over the top friendly and we can't wait to bring out of town guests to Restaurant Neuf!! We arrived 45 minutes early for our reservation so we could enjoy a drink at the bar. My sazerac was delightful and Caitlin's red wine was nice and dry. We were seated before our reservation time. I remember restaurants opening and closing in this location and I'm glad to see a great establishment take a foothold in this beautiful space. The location of the Italian Market sounds inconvenient, but the market closes around noon or 1pm. We were able to find a parking spot about a block away.
I came alone for dinner on Valentine's day and the staff were kind enough to divide their special menu in half for me. This level of service along with their awesome food is reason for me to keep coming back. The Paris brest is an awesome dessert choice. :-)
I wasn't impressed. I enjoy Noord so much that I was expecting the same grade of food. The food was just okay but the atmosphere was nice.
Well executed menu and excellent service. The oyster omelette w/ lemon was fluffy and a good selection of flavors.
