Wild Hand is a vibrant and welcoming community in Mt Airy Village. It is nestled between High Point Cafe and Weaver's Way Next Door Shop. Wild Hand has been able to keep the sense of community strong even during the pandemic and a transition to a more robust online presence. Wild Hand was creative and flexible in continuing to provide goods to the community via local pickup, local delivery, and shipping. The Little Free Fiber Library is also back up and running to expand access to and inclusivity within the fiber arts. I recommend Wild Hand for their support of locally produced fibers, local dyers, and local makers. They consciously and consistently source ethically produced goods.

Beautiful new fiber arts store (about 8 months old now). The staff was so friendly. I was hoping my 2.5 year old son would be sleeping, but he was not, and they were so gracious at his attempts to dismantle their loom and take all the mini balls of yarn. They have a little play nook with toys for kids (if only he would have stayed there). They have these little weaving kits that would be great for my older girls to keep them occupied. The yarn is displayed beautifully. Some stores I feel are overwhelming the way things are arranged. I have been looking for yarn for a pattern I want to make, and I hadn’t found it in some of the other yarn stores, I think because of the layout. I finally found a skein that spoke to me!

Such a sweet and wonderful yarn shop! I can't wait until they can open their doors again, but until then I'll continue supporting these fine fiber folk from afar. So glad y'all are in the neighborhood.

Wonderful yarn shop with the most lovely sales people. There is one extra special lady that works there that would practically hug you upon entering. She exudes the love she has for fiber and people. Love this place!

Wild Hand is an absolutely beautiful new fiber arts shop in the heart of West Mt. Airy. The space is transformative, filled with beautiful fiber supplies, flooded with natural light and designed meticulously by the ingenious owner. The shop has rapidly established itself as a community gathering space, creating a safe environment for all. The workshops are brilliantly designed to inclusively welcome beginners like me, inviting new makers to experience the craft. This space is exactly what the neighborhood has been missing and I look forward to years of patronage.

This sweet shop makes me want to stop, hang out, and try out every fiber craft that ever existed!!! It is a beautiful warm space full of ethically sourced products, knowledgable staff, and a growing community all of its own. It's hard to imagine that this shop was ever not part of Mt Airy Village, as it is a perfect fit, and so is it's conscientious, welcoming, hard-working owner, Liz!
