With a global pandemic and everyone self quarantining why isn’t APS removing prime charges or lessening the cost as they do during holidays. Even if it was only 1 to 2 days a week, that would help a great many people. Delayed billing is a start but if you accrue high prime time charges working from home or kids and family members staying safely indoors during this time that will still be a burden to many. Hopefully this will not be ongoing but if it does maybe there will be some flexibility at least until the end of March.

Worst utility company I have ever worked with in my life. The customer service is terrible. They are not willing to help you with billing. We were less than 30 days late on 1 payment and were assessed a 600 deposit penalty resulting in an additional 200/month for 3 months. What do other struggling families do when they are having a hard time paying these (already highest price electricity in AZ) bills and then hit with 200 more each month? It seems counter productive. In addition they hold that deposit for a year before returning. Collecting interest on that 600 for the year. Multiply that by 100,000 families or more, and that is a great additional profit center. Meanwhile, policy wise, we have no choice but to pay it. They are profiting 1.2B annually. Seems to me that it is essentially organized crime, especially when they prey upon struggling families.

Just try and figure out your bill and how you might save money, its pretty clear this company is a legally sanctioned form of highway robbery. Especially since their plan selector \tool\ turned out to be another finely crafted way to scam you - just like the billing structure itself. They should be put in jail.

I called into APS in the hopes someone could explain to me how the demand charges for on peak usage were calculated in my monthly bill. I met a wall of resistance and ignorance. They either claimed those calculations were not possible to discuss because no one knew them or just hung up on me, when I pushed back on that statement. I am assuming this experience would be typical with any organization that has a monopoly of the service being provided. Revised: I had to request a supervisor who was able to answer the fundamental question.

You took millions from customers and didn't use it for what it was intended for, isn't that theft? You made interest on it? How about you stop gouging utility prices and make it affordable.
