We take dog agility here and love it! So much fun
Awesome Dog Training! Wilhelm came to me trained as a medical alert service dog by two of AZ Dog Sports very best trainers, Jaymie and Jessa. The team at AZ Dog Sports is always open to supporting my on-going training and answering my questions as my pup and I continue learning to work together.
This review is for basic training courses. This might be for you if you have a puppy or a dog that is looking to learn new tricks, but if your dog has any sort of complex behavioral issues I would not recommend. We did learn a few useful tricks but there is no individual attention and no structure from week to week (it seems like the instructors make up what they’re going to teach you on the spot). Realistically we should have received better consultation before booking the course we did. I wish I spent the money on a 1:1 course or with a personal trainer instead.
Update: the owner called and was very concerned with my experience at her facility. She is very compassionate about training dogs and provided private lessons to help catch my dog up to spreed. She is planning on talking to the instructor of the class I experienced to improve the quality of the lessons for the future. I really appreciate the owners compassion and dedication to training dogs. My hat goes off to her. Group lessons are not worth the money. The lessons are primarily for socializing your dog. I have a 1.5 year old German shepherd and I didn’t receive any instruction on how to improve her behavior or leash training. After her lessons she wasn’t any better than when we started and the solution I was given was “more classes”. During the classes the instructor first goes around the room with distractions (herself or stuffed animals) taking 15-20 minutes. The owner is suppose to call the dogs name and give the dog a treat when the dog turns his/her head. The rest of the class time is taking the dog through obstacle courses. No instruction. No command training. No leash training. Complete waist of time.
