I have been to five different schools in my life, two of which were BASIS schools. From my experiences I can proudly say that BASIS Ahwatukee is easily the best academically and socially. Academically , this is one of, if not the best schools in the nation. The courses are extremely rigorous, so if you intend on going here you need to be prepared to work hard. However, the teachers are extraordinary and always willing to help you succeed. Colleges recognize how rigorous this school is and will give you priority over students from other school when applying. Aside from academics and college preparation, at this school, you are surrounded by people who want to learn. This kind of environment is practically bully free, and any bullying that may arise is shut down quickly.

I toured this school and filled out an application that was never finished because I still had not moved to AZ. Once I did move I tried to contact the school to come back and finish the application, but nobody ever answered the phone or called back after calling for a couple weeks. Fast forward two months and they have sent me to collections despite my child never attending for a day and me never completeing the application OR GIVING THEM ANY ARIZONA ADDRESS. I feel for a school with such good ratings, they did a piss poor job with me. Now I can't get then to answer the phone still (no surprise there) but at least the company they hired for billing is fixing the issue of me being billed even though I never enrolled my kid. Just take your kids to Kyrene, they at least answer the phone.
I was bullied. No body really did anything. I mean I guess the education is good but the administration is money hungry. 8 for a lunch? I get that it’s from like Panda Express and stuff but I go to the DV now and they serve Chick-fil-A for a 1.35. This school thinks that they’re the top dogs but in reality it’s just a lukewarm school. They need to focus more on arts and music and English. When I was there I felt forced to go into STEM or math. Kids were forced into AP and honors classes. Teachers were good and nice.
