We have loved everything we've tried there. Chocolate croissants are the best I've had since the early days of Sugar and Spice in Goodyear. The quiches and soups are wonderful.

We’ve been fortunate to eat often in France. Essenes Bakery is the closest we’ve come to getting high quality French parties in Phoenix. The place is just wonderful. Try the chocolate croissant. Try the almond croissant. Try the sticky bun. Try anything with eggs. Well, try anything. Really. It’s all mouth watering and just melts with rich flavor. We always leave with a box of macaroons which come in the most unique flavors of pumpkin, intense raspberry, pistachio, and many more.
Food 11/10 Customer Service 5/10 Friendliness 5/10 If the food wasn’t so phenomenal, this place wouldn’t make it. I’m not a big believer in leaving negative feedback but I really wish to get the message across to management that the customer service is poor. In particular, the young blonde woman: She’s just not friendly whatsoever and whenever I walk in, I feel unwanted. I dread coming here to deal with the her and generally grab my AMAZING pastries and get the heck out.
Our family loves this little local bakery gem in the middle of Arcadia. Fresh lovely food, good service and a community feel from Eugenia and her husband who engage with every customer like they are family. Cannot recommend any higher. !
Doesn’t get better than Essence. First class French cuisine. Would eat here every day if I could. Try anything. You will love it.
