My mom was admitted against her will into the behavior health unit. They told her she could not keep her wedding ring on. The ring came up missing. Police report to be filed. I don’t think homeless people would be allowed to stay here because they don’t have money;( My mom had health insurance

Awful place. Bought my boyfriend food from a fast food place and he asked for one of his sodas that I brought in for him the day before and the nurse told him no. These women nurses need to get off their high horses, they act like they are better then the patients and visitors. The nurses don't watch the patients, the techs do. The place is always dirty. They don't keep the schedule for meals, snacks and medicine times. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you have a love one that needs help, send them somewhere else. I wouldn't even have gave them one star.
I was dreading my son going to a County facility but was surprised. My son was in Unit 11 at the Annex due to being a para/quad in a wheelchair & having several pressure sores. He received very good care here. Dr H adjusted his meds & it made a huge improvement. Raquel, social worker, was easy to contact, very helpful & patient with questions. Tracy, nurse in charge, is mature beyond her years, easy to communicate with & very grounded. I unfortunately do not know the other nurses or techs names that my son came in contact with but can say every time I had a question, I got an answer. My son felt the same, as I did. The only suggestion I was asked to pass on is to improve the food.
My grandma is here and I'm trying to get her out ASAP but have to wait on her court date since it was petitioned. She's already better and that place is horrible. There's violent people in there, I don't think non violent patients should be mixed in with violent ones first of all. My grandma is also being handled roughly, she showed me a bruise on her wrist from being grabbed to hard. The nurses don't really try to interact with the patients they're just robots doing the bare minimum to get through the day. This is not the job for you if you have no compassion for humanity and patience. This whole place is depressing, there are no bright colors or murals, pictures etc. to help peoples mood improve or get better. I do not recommend this place.
Michelle the worker in Unit 9 needs an attitude change. Double standards and sexism.
