Easy starting area and great for a stroll with young kids. It gets a bit more difficult after the unpaved area but I still see families hiking there. This goes up to a road that has rocks to rest on with a great view north of South Mountain. You can continue hiking along the road up onto a lookout area for a great view south of South Mountain.

Aggressive but not hard once you get to the higher end. Very rocky and loose dirt, so wear good shoes/boots. Nice views from the top.

I went up to the overlook on a Tuesday morning starting around 9:30AM. Path was paved at first and then became gravel, and there were quite a few people. Obvious trail, well-marked at the top. The overlook was okay and I went a bit further to get a better view of the city. Took about 30 minutes to get to the top and then 25 minutes back down; parking lot was about half-full when I was there.

Love Telegraph Pass trail head. Different trail options. I hike this every Year on my brother's Memorial November 23rd. To the top of Telegraph Pass, a right on National Trail (east bond) to the highest point you can hike on South Mountain without making your own trail. Sign the book they have at that spot. 4.5 miles round trip. Awesome hike.
