Dr. Smith never bothered to obtain my labs prior to my appointments, and continued to prescribe me several harsh medications not having a clue how my kidneys and liver were functioning. For over 6 months (2 follow-up visits 3 months apart), when I asked to see my labs and go over them with Dr. Smith during my appointment, he was unable to provide them stating that they are having issues with their system. During these 6 months I took medications I did not even need, that were extremely harsh on my body. When I had my 3rd visit scheduled, I was hoping that this would be resolved, however I received a call that my visit that I had scheduled with Dr. Smith had been switched over to his nurse Jessica. I wasn't asked or given an option, just told that Dr. Smith is unavailable and I could only see his nurse, whom I had never seen before and who was completely unfamiliar with my case. I was told it would be over 6 MONTHS to see the actual Dr. Smith for my follow-up appointment that had already been scheduled several months ago. So basically it would be an ENTIRE year before Dr. Smith can even take time out of his day to (potentially) look at my labs that he's continuing to prescribe to me for. This made no sense to me at all, until I considered that there was one entrance in and out of the building, and I could see the drug reps coming and going as I sat waiting in the waiting room for 30-40 minutes. Why is it that the drug reps cannot wait in the waiting room, while the patients are seen first? I witnessed several elderly patients who were sitting in uncomfortable hard wooden backed chairs and seemed to be in a lot of pain sitting that long, as was I. Bottom line, I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

I have lupus and was a patient of Dr Smiths for 8 years. He was a very good doctor until the past 2-3 years when you never get to see him. You can make an appointment with him and then you end up seeing the nurse practitioner, which I was fine with until Jessica left the office too. The staff is awful. And either Dr Smith doesn’t know what they are doing or he doesn’t care. They have been trying to work me in to see him for three months now (due to the recommendation of Jessica before she left and due to my lupus getting bad) and now they are saying it will be May. It’s currently January 8. I developed cancer in my kidney while on Humira. My labs have been getting worse and when I questioned the Dr, I was told it was nothing to worry about. Well it was. I will be having my kidney removed in the next few weeks. The oncologist asked for me to see Dr Smith before surgery, but the office won’t relay message to Dr Smith. I don’t even know if the dr is aware that I have cancer, as I can’t see him until May. I have now found a new dr that cares, luckily my husband was familiar with a rheumatologist so I didn’t have to wait. I would not recommend Dr Smith’s office to anyone. For the sake of your health, please see someone else.

If a doctor saves your life more than once, they deserve 5 stars.

If this was based solely on Dr Smith I would give 5 stars if I could. But unfortunately his staff is NOT a very good reflection of him. They are rude don't get back to you. They had me waiting on hold for nearly an hour and then told me they were not in the position to answer my question and the person who could was busy. They couldn't take a message but said I could try and call later. I called every single day for over a week and could not get one prescription refilled. I would definitely change offices if it weren't for how amazing Dr Smith is. He has great bedside manner he talks with you not just to you. He is kind and helpful. I only wish his staff could get some of what he has.
