I moved to AZ from MI to better myself as well as my children. I m homeless in live at umom. I was told by my case manager that I qualify for subsidized housing. I had been looking for housing since i moved in this place which was in March! Come to find out i was being lied to once no one had contact me for housing. I went over to the red door. In was told i didn't qualify for any type of housing but shelter! I m very disappointed i came here for help! Also no job due to not able to work because i m expecting im asking if someone please tell me the steps finding the way out of this situation! Thank You! I also added picture at the bottom to show how the rooms have roaches and cockroaches they moved me from room to room in everything just seems to get worse the whole is asleep actually from a water break that happened at 5 a.m. in the morning one day it took them weeks before they even came and fix the hole and it had a horrible smell by me being pregnant and having three small children is not good for our health if someone could please help me and point me. In the right direction in trying to get out of the shelter to find a stable place for my children and myself I would greatly appreciate it thank you!!

My children and I were former residents a couple of times. Sometimes it takes a couple to a few trys before you get it right. It was really hard to go through so many transitions so many times, but it was totally worth it. If I had to do it again I would because I know I can make it. I no longer live in Arizona. I am now in Alabama with my mother and stepdad. I now have my own place for my children. I recently had a baby boy and am in a complicated but happy relationship. Waiting on an approval for a job. I am so grateful for UMOM New Day Center and staff. Thank you for everything. I really didn't know how much criticism I needed until I went through your program how ever many times I needed to. Your program taught me a lot.

The shelter is cheap I donated stuff and they let me walk in and it was so nasty the staff let the kids smoke and they cover their back the rooms look nasty and I saw a rat and the staff act so rude and they think they are better than other people I’m richer than them.
