Unexpected events run by Julie deserves ZERO stars. As a high school prom advisor, my students and I were so excited to work with Julie and her crew for our 2020 prom. She started out accommodating and the kids thought her and her company were SO COOL. And then, sadly, Covid hit. Per a requirement of our school district, we were not allowed to host prom, as it was a major safety concern and it was cancelled. We were hoping to get our deposit returned, as these are unpresented times where this was not expected to happen, and Julie flat out refused to work with us. She ignored emails, phone calls, gave us the run around for months and refused to even discuss the issue. While we understand she is running a business and is struggling herself to run something during Covid times, anything back from our deposit would have been helpful. Even a partial refund would have helped these kids be able to run a prom this year. The school I work for is a Title 1 school- coming across a budget to host a prom is tough enough, and Julie and Unexpected Events let these kids down. These students worked tirelessly to raise a prom budget and now, we are struggling to make plans for this year. While calling around for options this year, venues asked who we worked with last year for Prom and when her name was mentioned, they were not surprised at all that this happened to us. I was very sad this did not work out.

I cannot express how incredible our experience was working with Julie and her team at Unexpected. Julie and her team went above and beyond expectations to accommodate our team and exhibitors. The venue is FABULOUS! Eclectic and full of interesting space both indoor and outdoor. Host an event here, you will not be disappointed. 5 stars!
