Terrible customer service and operations. I booked a rental paddleboard for a trip I was to make to Colorado Springs for a wedding in August. After finding out I was not going to be able to travel, I called Pikes Peak to cancel my reservation. They never answered the phone. I left a voicemail. I emailed them. Called again and again with no reply. So I disputed the transaction with my bank which I just received a letter about from my bank saying Pikes Peak verified my purchase. So I paid for a rental that I didn't get to use because Pikes Peak Outfitter lacks any level of normal customer service and communication. Awful awful operations.

Absolutely awful place to rent camping gear. If you have a choice, do NOT choose this place. Out of the three tents we rented, one did not have any poles at all (just canvas and stakes), and the other two did not have at least half of the stakes needed. The sleeping bags were torn and poor quality. Had the weather been windy or inclimate in any way, we would have been really screwed. When we returned the gear and brought up this issue, they told us \there is nothing we can do.\ For as unreasonably priced as this company is, I would expect that they could have done something.

I called ahead and asked about two person kayaks, which they said they had available. So I show up and lo and behold, they only have one one-person kayak. A waste of time. Does anyone know where else I can rent a kayak? Also, when we tried to rent one in advance I asked if we could cancel if there happens to be bad weather that day and they said no. 48 hour notice, full deposit, predatory business. Do not recommend.

Super customer service. I went here a couple years ago and didn't have a great experience but have been going back for a few things since they support the Colorado Kayak Fishing Club. I stopped in during an angler covey sale and started talking to them. Well long story short Angel was so helpful I ended up buying a new kayak. Everyone was great, super helpful and very knowledgeable.
