I've been to many electric boat places and this place is the best by far! The boat was so pretty and clean but more importantly everyone there is SO NICE AND HELPFUL! They have great prices too!!! We won't go anywhere else. THANK YOU FOR THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!

Couldn't book with Duffy even a month ahead of time, but Pirates Life took care of our company outing. The boats we clean and fully charged and the staff was amazing. That acted like they wanted to be there and even offered CD's so that we didn't have to go back to our cars. Our outing was a great success and we have rented again. Their pricing is the best on the harbor, no reason I can think of going to the "Name Sake" place, other than having your car damaged in their pint-size parking lot. You get all the bells and whistles here without the attitude or expense! Always a great experience.
Do not rely on these guys! Called several times and left messages on VM to set up boat reservation. NO call backs. I had to pay more at another company for a last minute reservation. There is to much competition out there and better run companies. Don't waste your time.
We've been renting boats in OC for nearly 20 years and have tried several companies. Our outing with Pirates Life Boat Rental, however, was a cut above, and then some. Considering that the actual boats and associated fees tend to be fairly similar with the rental companies, what makes the difference is boat upkeep and service. Pirates Life Boat Rental excels on both accounts. The husband and wife team, Holly & Christian, are the quintessence of hospitality, and were genuine in their care for us and our party. Not only was our and boat immaculate, they ensured every aspect of our tour was enjoyable and carefree (however, as incredible as they are, they are unable to control the temperature of the typical cool breezes at sunset... i.e. for wimps and whiners, bring a jacket!). I could not recommend Pirates Life Boat Rental any more enthusiastically and am looking forward to our next "voyage." Thank you Holly & Christian for making over evening such a blast!
THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. THEIR PHONE ALWAYS GOES TO VOICEMAIL. THEY NEVER REPLY TO EMAILS. I ENDED UP RENTING AT DUFFY'S AND THE EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL! DUFFY SAYS THAT THESE GUYS BOATS ARE AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE AND DUFFY IS THE NAME AROUND TOWN! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY FAR AWAY! THEY END UP CHARGING ME FOR SERVICES *NOT* RENDERED!
I have used them in the past, however, their customer service is terrible. They are either not staffed or do not care. I have tried to contact them 5 times in three days about reserving a time two weeks away. They have not responded to phone, text or e mail. I had a coupon that is expired as they told me twice 2-3 months ago they did not have boats available for use with my coupon. They said I could use its value towards a full rate rental but they will not even respond to my inquiries. I will now report them to the coupon vendor as well
I am a local and I had great experiences with them so I gave them the ability to match a groupon deal that a local duffy company across the bay was offering. it was 3 duffys for 270. they matched it and let me rent one duffy, since the first duffy they have disappeared off the map. They picked up the phone once and told me they were having docking issues and that they would let me know when they could fulfill my order. Since then they have disconnected their phones and taken my money and have not reached back to me. Lost 180.00 to these people
