I will start by saying that I thought the staff was very friendly and my pants were done in a timely manner for a good price. I took three pairs of work pants to get hemmed and tapered. After just a few weeks, one of the hems came undone. Now, after two months, the hem stitching has completely come undone and I have had to get them all fixed. Like I said, friendly staff, good price, and timely but the quality of their work is very poor.

Two of my bridesmaids used alterations express for their dresses and BOTH came back with stains on their dresses. They were told they could send them to be “dry cleaned”... the wedding was the next day. BOTH were still charged. The alterations on the one dress were absolutely disastrous and looked like a inexperienced person completed them. ( I have pictures, and was asked multiple times WHAT HAPPENED). We have used this store and this location since I was in high school... I am SO completely upset and disgusted at the way they were treated and expected to pay full price when they were given dresses back in worse condition than when going in. As a bride, the LAST thing that I wanted to worry about the day before my wedding was this mess.
Fantastic job of pinning my pants and Lui Yan did a fantastic job on the alterations!! Highly recommend this place. Fast turnaround also.
I have gone to Alterations Express before for pant hemming and have had a good experience but unfortunately that was not the case today. I have never been treated with such poor customer service. I visited the North Hills location for a sleeve alteration and pant hem. I originally got a turn around time of 2 hours. When I came back after 2 hours, I was told I needed to wait another 45 minutes. I understood that they were busy but was slightly inconvenienced. I was in a rush by the time my things came out so I did not check the items before leaving. When I got home and looked at them I was appalled. The work on the sleeves could have been done by someone who has never sewn before. The edges were not lined up the fabric was bunched in some places and the other sleeve had fabric hanging out. The pants I had hemmed were uneven. I went back this morning (the next day) and it took well over 10 minutes for someone to wait on me. The staff never apologized. The manager was mean and rude. She acted like all of this was my fault somehow. I was understandably upset because my jumpsuit was unwearable because of the sleeves. She was in no way apologetic and then basically ignored me. I am 5'0 so almost every thing I own needs to be hemmed. Your company has just lost a customer who would have otherwise been frequently returning.
