An absolutely amazing gem! At the suggestion of a friend, a small group of us visited this amazing eatery. We met the owner, was serenaded with live music, and shared a delicious meal. It is very unassuming inside but that gives way to exceptional service and food.

Delicious. I came into town for my son and niece's birthdays. We found this perfect spot for authentic Italian food. We felt like we went to our uncle's house for family dinner. They have a great wine selection and fantastic cocktail menu. The space is a little tight, but the staff were very cautious about Covid protocols.
We had lunch there for the first time and it was excellent. I was a huge fan and we will definitely come back. Food was amazing. True Italian for sure!
My new favorite place in Pittsburgh! The food is authentic and delicious, the restaurant is beautiful with a rustic but polished charm, and the best part is the ambiance. I love how the staff and owners seem to know so many of the guests and it really does make you feel like your family there. This is my second time to this restaurant but the first time there with the live music and I love it! We will definitely be back! Super romantic dinner.
One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. I had Chicken Penne which was very delicious. The server was nice to us. Gelato at the end was a perfect way to end the dinner and the trip in Pittsburgh.
This restaurant is cozy and quaint. All of the food was delicious. They allowed ample time between courses, so that you don't feel rushed to finish anything. My steak was cooked perfectly. I would recommend Girasole for a date night, out with friends or just random meal. I will definitely be returning.
A dining experience we only dreamed still existed in America! Visiting this establishment was a last-minute recommendation by our jeweler after finding out our first choice for dinner was closed down - out of business - due to the unfortunate hardship of the economy. Yet Girasole endured, and we quickly found out why. My fiancée and I had spent the evening picking out our wedding bands and her earrings for our upcoming wedding, and we wanted to cap the evening off with something simple for dinner before we went home. What we were treated to was anything but simple, but rather, the perfect cap to a night we didn’t expect could end even happier for us. We often reminisce about our favorite “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants only known by locals and advertised by word of mouth. This place fit the image perfectly, only it is more like a “hole-in-the-floor”; you walk down the concrete steps and into a tiny room with stone walls. Greeted at the door by a sweet old man, sipping on his glass of red wine, his inviting smile and simple gesture, you’re asked to sit anywhere you like. We found a spot in the back, and sat down at an antiqued, hammered copper table. The bread was fresh and soft, cocktails delicious, and entrees were very satisfying. Even if the food wasn’t good - which it was - the atmosphere itself made my lady cry over how perfect it made an already beautiful evening for her. Her smile glowed to the rhythm of the live guitarist who walked from table to table, taking song requests and played through dinner. You won’t find a better place to visit for dinner, but if you think you have, you should keep it a secret!
This was my first time coming to girasole, and my partner and I just happened to stumble on it because our reservations were canceled, and I am so grateful they were. Between Jamie being a musician taking requests for songs and jimmy and his joke entertaining us all evening I had an absolutely wonderful evening. One of the best date nights I’ve had in a long time. We are both pretty big in the chef industry in Pittsburgh and will be back 100% as well as recommend this place to all our friends. Thank you!
